Projekts „No more gender violence”
Youth Professional Development
From July 1-16 Tom Schmit and Eva Birzniece from Pro Futuro coordinated a training programme for 11th and 12th students from Zemgale in Latvia and Saulai in Lithuania funded by the LT/LV Cross Border Programme . The training programme was 16 days long and held in Nereta.
Among the visiting experts were Irma Kalniņa from IKK Konsultacija who worked on etiquette, protocol and business communications. Greg Mathers from Accel Performance Consulting helped the students with team skills, Juris Ulmanis from Rīga Business School worked with marketing and Juris Jerums (RBS) worked on project planning.
At the end the students presented business plans to an expert panel that included Maksims Jegorovs of Accenture, Rasma Pipiķe from Civic Alliance - Latvia and Arta Kronberga from the Zemgale Planning Region. The top two plans (of 8) were awarded prizes.
From a participant in Nereta's Youth Professional Training:
"Hi, dear Tom!
I guess mrs. Irma tought me something too.:D I wanted to thank You for making 2 weeks of my life really awesome. I have been in few camps, but there was only one that I will remember whole life. It was christian camp in Vidzeme. It was so great because of amazing people that became my friends and teachers that were great. Now I have another training to remember forever. This time every single person in camp became really good friend to me. And the teaching process was amazing! I mean- I've learned economical stuff in school whole year, but this training surelly gave me more than all the lessons at school. I really look forward to keep you in touch... I hope there will be possibility to participate in another training organised by You. Or even more- to help like Jānis, Artūrs and Kristaps did.
Sincerelly-
Jānis"
